after the wedding
As of July 2023, a complimentary engagement session (30 minutes) has been added to all 6+ hour wedding packages!
There is an option to add on an engagement session or extended time (60-90 minutes) to any of our package options.
The tips below will help you prepare for your session.
When in doubt, go with a neutral option! Earth tones look perfect during colder months and light, airy colors are a great choice for summer ones. For longer sessions two outfits are recommended (one casual & one semi formal)
Avoid distracting patterns and logos for a more timeless look.
I always recommend a golden hour session for engagements for soft lighting and a romantic glow. This is typically within 1 hour of sunset.
Choose a location that matches your personalities, interests or holds sentimental value (1st date location, first “I love you” place, etc) Your wedding venue may also allow access for your engagement session!
I understand how rare it is to have all the people you love in one room at once. I offer hourly coverage for bridal showers and wedding rehearsal dinners to ensure you get plenty of candids and celebratory photos with the ones who mean most to you! This is a great way to capture group photos with people who you may not get to see or spend much time with during the hustle and bustle of your wedding day. This can also be used to cut down the amount of formal portraits needed on the day of.
I am as hands on or off as you would prefer for your wedding! I do my best to check in periodically to see how things are going and I encourage you to send me updates along the way no matter how big or small.
60-90 days before your wedding you will receive your wedding day questionnaire. This document is really important, as it includes all the details I need to know for photography coverage. You can fill this out independently as you sort out your wedding day details OR we can meet virtually to go over everything together.
For local clients, I’m open to coffee or lunch meetings so we can get to know each other a little better before you walk down the aisle!
A few weeks before your wedding we will have a final call/video conference check in and ensure we’re on the same page before the big day!
Don’t get me wrong, I love chatting with my clients! However, I do prefer email if we’re going over any wedding details so I can ensure all information remains organized throughout the planning process.
That said, I’m always happy to take your call or set up a virtual meeting!
On every wedding day I start by capturing the details. This allows me to get all of the special touches out of the way to ensure they are not overlooked before the timeline picks up.
Please have the items below ready in a container so you can keep them organized and hand them off as needed. The box of items will be returned to the appropriate parties immediately after photos are done.
My goal is always to get through family portraits as quickly and efficiently as possible so you can relax, mingle with guests, etc. The tips below may help with this!
Provide a list for family portraits including names to the photographer one month before the wedding.
Have the officiate announce where family portraits will be taken when the ceremony ends.
Designate a close friend or relative who is familiar with the family to help gather people.
(If taking photos after the ceremony…)
Inform those who will be needed for photos ahead of time so they don’t got to cocktail hour or the reception.
Have the coordinator or designated guest(s) clear the photo area of all guests so there’s no interference or blockage with photos.
I typically designate 15-20 minutes to formal portraits. A sample family photo list is available upon request.
I can provide a custom timeline for your wedding upon request! Although the ceremony time helps guide my recommendations, there’s a lot to take into consideration such as: potential first look, if there are off-site locations, when group photos will be taken, etc.
The following recommendations are based on a late October wedding with a 6:45p (eastern) sunset.
Getting ready photos look best when they are captured in a space with a natural light source!
When planning your timeline, it helps to add a 5-10 minute window in between each activity. In the event that there are delays, these windows of time can help you catch up and help you feel less rushed.
To avoid being seen by guests before the wedding, I recommend stopping all portraits and hiding 1 hour before the ceremony. This will also give you time to relax before a busy afternoon/evening!
You’re not going to spend much time alone as a couple on your special day. I encourage my couples to schedule a private time for themselves. This could be a private gift exchange or vow reading, a one on one dinner while your guests are being served, or a few minutes of watching the sunset together.
When taking photos with me, you don’t always have to look directly at the camera. I find the best wedding photos are captured when couples genuinely connect with each other and their loved ones.
Remember this is a celebration! Don’t forget to breathe, soak it in and fully immerse in the experience as much as possible!
You will receive sneak peek photos within 72 hours of your wedding day. These images are selected by me and intended to give you a small preview of your day as you wait for the full gallery.
Please review your contract to see the listed turn-around time for your event. My average gallery delivery timeframes are listed below, HOWEVER, this may vary based on my schedule and availability at the time. I am proud to say I have NEVER missed the contracted deadline in my 10 year career, so you are guaranteed to have your images within the time frame noted in yours.

Average delivery time during peak wedding season – 6 to 8 weeks
I don’t want our relationship to end after the wedding!
As you continue to approach new milestones in your life, whether it be your first house or a new addition to your family, I’m always happy to capture the next chapter of your journey!
More than anything, I’d love to stay connected on social media to continue watching your love story unfold.
