I was super excited to host my first family gathering of the year and committed to preparing as many dishes on my own as possible. My first go at a buffalo chicken dip was a success and there were definitely other highlights. However, the star of the night was my homemade lemonade!
I found this wonderful recipe on Pinterest and used it as the foundation for my lemonade. I followed the ingredients exactly for one batch and my taste buds were completely satisfied when I tried my first sip! It was sweet and only slightly tart – just how I like it. It took three batches to fill my beverage dispenser. I added 10 more glasses of water, 2 1/2 cups of lemon juice and added sugar as needed. My mouth is watering at the thought of how delicious it turned out! I honestly can’t see myself purchasing lemonade from the store again!
Notes:
I used 25 lemons for the juice (and one additional one for lemon slices), but many were very small. I sliced the lemons in half and used a lime squeezer to extract the lemon juice.
I hate pulp in any juice. By using a mesh strainer while pouring the lemon juice in the water, I was able to remove most of the pulp for a texture-free drinking experience!
