Every year, Dakota and Allison make their way to the Smoky Mountains for Ponies in the Smokies, a tradition that’s become a core memory in their relationship. But this year? This visit was extra special. Just weeks away from welcoming their first baby, they decided to celebrate this chapter with a maternity session in the heart of the mountains they love so much. And y’all, it was magical.
We met up bright and early—15 minutes after sunrise—to soak in that dreamy golden light at one of the most breathtaking overlooks in the Smokies. The morning chill, the soft pastel sky, and the layers of misty blue ridges stretching for miles set the most incredible backdrop for their session. If you’ve ever been here at sunrise, you know—it’s pure magic.
Dakota and Allison were all smiles, full of excitement (and maybe a little disbelief) that their little one would be here so soon. Between laughs, sweet forehead kisses, and a few quiet moments soaking in the view, their love for each other and their growing family was undeniable. These two have shared so many adventures in the Smokies, but this one? It was one for the books.
