Family Portraits

I love how much portrait sessions have evolved over the years. They certainly keep my creative juices flowing, sharpen my skills and make for a fun work experience.

That said, I think all the hype and planning of elaborate photoshoots in stunning locations has taken away from the simple and authentic moments that are worth capturing as well.

Sessions in your home or backyard are perfect for a more intimate experience. It gives the opportunity to photograph your story beyond the people in front of the camera. Watching your child play with their favorite toy or cooking with your spouse in your first home together may be the norm now, but one day you’ll look back on these memories with a level of appreciation and fondness that may not exist today.

In addition, I highly recommend in-home and background sessions for families with little ones. Photo shoots (even when well planned) can be extremely stressful for both parents and children. Doing them in a setting where everyone feels most comfortable can totally change the energy of the shoot and increase the enjoyment for everyone involved.

Just look at how many adorable moments I was able to capture of this sweet family during their family portrait session.
