I cracked my iPhone 6 screen in August, so the Fall releases came just in time for me this year. I’ve had a lot of friends and associates ask the following questions:
I’ll be addressing these questions in addition to sharing my personal thoughts on my phone!
WHY DIDN’T YOU GET THE IPHONE 10?
My answer is simple: I just wasn’t interested. Though I own many Apple products, I wouldn’t describe myself as obsessed or a fanatic. However, I definitely felt like one when the iPhone 8/8 Plus was shown during the Apple announcement. In my opinion, it’s one of the most gorgeous phones I’ve ever seen. After experiencing love at first site with the perfect creamy color and smooth, glass finish of the 8’s, I was completely underwhelmed visually by the 10. Specs definitely matter to me, which is why I still took the time to compare them among all the phones. However, there wasn’t a significant enough difference between the 8 Plus & 10 for me to feel comfortable purchasing such an expensive device that I knew I wouldn’t be happy to look at everyday.
THE PLUS IS SO BIG! IS IT COMFORTABLE TO USE?
Yes! Well….not exactly…
I have very small hands and I can feel my fingers stretching to get around my entire phone each time I have to make a call. Texting, browsing, etc has definitely become a two-handed experience for me. Fortunately, after purchasing a Popsocket for my device, using my phone in every aspect has become a completely comfortable and hassle-free experience.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE FEATURE?
Hands down – the camera. Portrait mode has become by best friend on my iPhone 8 Plus. It creates a very nice bokeh (blurry background) effect that I never Imaged I’d be able to capture on my phone. Just look at this photo!
Even without a blurred background, the 12mp camera produces pretty impressive images. I also find myself capturing more video on my phone these days.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Though I don’t agree with the massive phone tags on phones today, I’m definitely looking at my iPhone Plus as an investment that’s already helping me be more efficient with work, hobbies and everyday tasks in general. As someone who’s constantly emailing and searching up documents on the go, the larger screen has made it so much easier to navigate and modify work.
