One of the best things about living so close to the Smokies is the endless amount of restaurant and entertainment options in the surrounding areas. I want to continue sharing my go-to spots to travelers who want honest recommendations and locals who are continuing to explore all that east TN has to offer!
My husband and I recently tried Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and I had to share the experience with you all!
To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations coming here since I’ve had quite a few hit or miss experiences with some of the popular restaurants in the area. I’m so happy we decided to give this place a try!
We came during the week in the early afternoon, so the environment was quiet and cozy. Our server was very nice and kindly explained to us how family style dining works at this restaurant since my husband and I had never experienced it before.
The food came out quickly and tasted AMAZING! We were so pleased! It was like a high quality buffet or holiday dinner. Prepare to come HUNGRY because you can’t take the entrees or sides home with you! Dessert is the one item you can take for carry out.
Our family will be visiting soon and this is one of the places we’re most excited to take them!
This restaurant is located at The Island in Pigeon Forge, TN. Parking can be a bit tricky here during the busy season, but there is a free trolley that will take you to the entrance area of The Island if you’re not up for walking.
This area offers other options to pass time with a variety of shops, outdoor rides, Ole Smoky for moonshine tastings, an escape room if you’re up for a challenge and much more! Even if you just need a relaxing place to sit after filling your tummy, there’s plenty of seating next to the fountain display and if you stick around long enough you’ll be able to catch the fountain show. The location overall is a great place for quality time with your family or special someone!
