There’s something really special about families who are up for a little adventure.
We met on a quiet trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park—just the three of them: mom, dad, and their happy, curious little boy. It was the kind of late afternoon where the light filters perfectly through the trees, and everything feels soft and calm.
They showed up relaxed, ready to explore, and open to whatever the session brought. My kind of people!
We wandered the trail and it brought me so much joy to see their little one totally in his element—running ahead, stopping to inspect leaves, pointing out bugs, giving us all the good smiles and playful energy.
I told the family that if they want to get a little adventurous we can get in the creek for fun candid moments. Without hesitation, mom said, “Let’s do it!”
And just like that, the session went from sweet to magical. Splashing, soaked pant legs, that full-body laugh kids do when they’re having the time of their lives. It was so them. And the photos? Full of joy, movement, and all the little in-between moments that matter most!
